The Cross River State Consultative Forum has lauded Governor Bassey Edet Otu for his outstanding achievements following the commissioning of two newly procured aircraft, the remodeled and digitalized State Library Complex, and the inauguration of expanded National MSME Clinics in Calabar.
The events, held on August 12, 2025, were presided over by the Vice President of Nigeria, Senator Kashim Shettima, representing President Bola Tinubu. These developments mark another milestone in Governor Otu’s administration, which has transformed Cross River State into what the Forum describes as “a construction site” within just two years.
In a congratulatory message, the Forum acknowledged the governor’s wide-ranging infrastructural successes, including breakthroughs in rural accessibility across all eighteen Local Government Areas, support for farmers and traders, the near completion of the Obudu cargo airport, ambitious electrification efforts, and progress on key economic projects such as the Bakassi Deep Sea Port, Calabar Port revitalization, Tinapa Resort, and Obudu Cattle Ranch.
Chairman of the Forum, Eyo Nsa Ekpo Esq, alongside Secretary Dr. Julius Okpotu PhD, praised Governor Otu’s deep commitment, describing him as “a governor driven by conscience, love, and dedication to public service.”
