In the unfolding story of leadership in Cross River State, one name continues to stand out as a bridge between vision and delivery — Hon. Oden Ewa. The Otu-led administration, under the dynamic and apostolic leadership of His Excellency, Senator Prince Bassey Otu, has been blessed with men of capacity, but in Hon. Oden Ewa, APC in Cross River State has discovered a rare gem whose relevance keeps resonating far and wide.
It is no coincidence that when the Ewa family laid their father to rest, it turned into one of the most remarkable gatherings in our state in recent history. The burial was not just a farewell, but a carnival of honour, graced by no fewer than three sitting Governors, including our own, as well as the full complement of APC stakeholders from within and outside Cross River. That singular event did not only celebrate a patriarch but also spoke volumes about the weight and respect Hon. Oden Ewa commands across political and social divides.
Barely days after that historic event, our state witnessed another milestone moment when the Vice President of Nigeria visited Cross River. On that day, the Vice President, in company of Hon. Oden Ewa and His Excellency Governor Otu, commissioned two state-owned aircrafts — a bold infrastructural statement in our aviation sector. From there, they proceeded to commission the Cross River State Library, a landmark achievement that deserves special mention.
That commissioning did not go unnoticed — it drew the presence of the Commissioner for Aviation, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, the Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, the APC State Chairman, the entire APC State Working Committee, and even delegates from the Presidency. It was a convergence that showed how deeply the Otu-led administration is attracting national and state-level attention, with Hon. Oden Ewa standing strategically at the centre of it all.
For years, the State Library was an abandoned relic, a silent testimony of neglect and decay. But today, under the watchful supervision of Hon. Oden Ewa as Commissioner for Special Duties and Intergovernmental Relations, the library has been transformed into an edifice of knowledge, standing tall beside his office as a beacon of enlightenment and progress. What was once a forgotten building is now an eye-catching structure that reflects the seriousness of this administration in reviving the intellectual and educational life of our people. For students, researchers, and the general public, this is not just a library — it is a rebirth of knowledge and hope.
This is the kind of leadership partnership we see between Apostle Governor Otu and Hon. Oden Ewa: visionary guidance at the top and committed execution at the strategic level. Together, they represent the face of a new Cross River where governance is not about talk but about tangible, life-touching results.
As a Public Affairs Analyst, I cannot help but say that the story of APC in Cross River is being written daily by men like Oden Ewa who combine humility with capacity, service with strategy, and loyalty with vision. He has become not just a Commissioner, but a living proof that when opportunity meets competence, great things happen.
For us in Cross River Central and indeed the entire state, Hon. Oden Ewa is not only a shining light but also a compass pointing us toward a brighter future. And for APC as a family, having him in this administration is indeed a blessing, one that must be nurtured, celebrated, and maximized for the greater good of our state.
Long live Apostle Governor Otu.
Long live Hon. Oden Ewa.
Long live APC Cross River State.
