The city of Calabar was ignited with joy, spirit, and vibrant celebration today as the streets played host to the maiden Carnival Parade Thanksgiving and Festival of Praises, a historic event that wove together faith, culture, music, and unity in a dazzling public display.
Flagged off by the Governor of Cross River State, His Excellency, Apostle Senator Prince Bassey Otu, and his dear wife, Her Excellency Bishop Mrs. Eyoanwan Otu, the spiritual parade floated through major streets in the metropolis, drawing thousands into a shared expression of gratitude and hope.
This was no ordinary celebration. It marked a powerful moment in the life of the state, the first of its kind and one that residents are already praying becomes a tradition.

It reflected not only a revival of community spirit but a leadership that understands the value of merging faith with the cultural heartbeat of the people.
For many, it was a time of healing and thanksgiving. For others, a chance to witness a new era of unity, peace, and purpose.
The economic ripple was equally evident, with local vendors, artists, and service providers benefiting from the surge in activity, part of the broader vision of Governor Otu to use culture and faith as drivers of growth.
As gospel melodies echoed across the city and hearts lifted in praise, one truth stood tall, CROSS RIVER HAS FOUND A NEW WAY TO CELEBRATE LIFE, led by a Governor who understands that true development begins with the soul of the people.

Great initiative…hope we shall also have a para carnival for our brothers and sisters that are physically challenged. It is worth reflecting becuase this set of people are part of our society.
